=Mohit Chauhan
is an Indian singer who started his career, singing pop songs with the Silk Route. He did an album, Kalam. He is known for his soft romantic voice. He has recently been part of a reality series called Mission Ustaad on the channel 9X.
Arguably, his most appreciated song before his film career was Dooba Dooba from their album Boondein.
After a successful stint with the band, his film career started as a low key affair with a few forgettable songs. His career got a flying start when he was roped in to sing a song in the film "Rang De Basanti" by none other than A. R. Rahman. His song "Khoon Chala" was widely appreciated. Mohit Chauhan was born and brought up in Nahan in the Sirmaur district of Himachal. He completed his education from different districts in Himachal. He did his college from Bilaspur, Mandi and Nahan. Finally,completed his MSc in Geology from Dharamshala College in Himachal.. After completing his education in Himachal, he came down to Delhi where he formed the group the Silk Route in 1996, which gave him recognition in the music industry. "Boondein" was his first album where the song ‘Dooba Dooba’ was highly appreciated by people. In Bollywood, his career got a flying start when he was approached by none other than A. R. Rahman to sing a song in ‘Rang De Basanti’, where ‘Khoon Chala’ got wide appreciation.
